Another Australian cable TV series, this time a teen drama set in Brisbane, that... that is so obviously influenced by the earlier series of Skins I did wonder how closely at times. Alright, it veers away more as the series moves on, but there are similarities.
It's all about the final year of high school and the parties and a tight group of friends that are literally thrown together after the out-of-control party for one character's birthday. Over the year, the five of them will share many things (including beds) with Ed and Tammy (Gracie Gilbert) looking to lose their virginity by the end of the year and if not, they pledge to lose it together. Except Ed loses his to the dorky neighbours that will come back to embarrass him horrendously later in the year. This leads to one image that is quite horrifying as the dorky neighbour has filmed it on her phone and she's watching it back while clumsily eating an ice cream and has a look on her face that is truly terrifying, I'll never forget it...
Anyway, this series worked on a multi-platform level, so there were webisodes (thankfully put on the DVDs) that seemed to explain a far bit and I can imagine would've left those who just watched the weekly episode scratching their head wondering if they missed something. For example, the principal of their school dies because of the actions of one of the group in a webisode, then it mentioned in the next episode that she killed him. Um, when did that happen?? Good luck if you only watched the TV show.
I liked the show. I actually thought the show got better as it went along and more than it's obvious similarites to Skins, it brought back memories to when Skins was fresh and actually pretty interesting instead of how vapid the later series have become. At least it was something different from an Australian drama, because we all know commercial TV won't come up with anything wildly different.
There was a lot of great cappable stuff from the series, which was a great bonus. Only brief nudity from Gracie Gilbert (graduating from the quite good kids show Lockie Leonard), that I think is her, it could be a double, but I doubt it. Over the next two days I'll release stuff from other in the cast including a helluva lot from Emily Robins, who has some great bikini scenes and the other lead female Adele Perovic with some more from guest stars.

Second and final series of cable comedy/drama Spirited, that was cancelled prematurely much to the disgust of the fans. This series continued on the weirdness, in fact I would say it was a damn sight more out there. And a fun show to watch. Also far more ambitious than anything on the commercial free-to-air channels. And much better too...

I've heard there's an American remake in the works, but I don't hold out much hope for it been that out there. US remakes seem to pretty much always get lost in translation.

The last 12 telemovies from the Halifax series. Got progressively worse and less adventurous over time, but wasn't all bad. A belated look at this series seeing as though series 2 is well under way. I had my reservations about the series seeing as though I really liked the UK series (well, the first 3-4 series, the arrival of the Irish family next door was the deal breaker for me, they ssssssuuuuucccccked). The Irish family is in from the beginning in the US series, but at least they ain't next door and have whole story lines based on their suckiness. And is disconcerting to watch the US series cherry pick plots from various series from the UK series. But the US series succeeds against the odds because the Gallagher family is so well cast, William H. Macy is a perfect Frank (still would have to do a bit more to beat David Threlfall's brilliant Frank Gallagher) and Emmy Rossum is fantastic as Fiona, finally making something of a role. I gotta admit, I was turned, not completely, but I enjoyed the US series nonetheless.
And what of Emmy Rossum pulling off some of the best nudity of last year. Yeah, that's great and all, but those nippy singlet top scenes are just as great. All hail cold weather!
Just a quick note: All the caps have come from a 1080i sources, but not a very good source, so only select episodes were used for full HD videos. The rest of the videos are from a 720p source, also a source I'm not happy with. I need to get my hands on some Bluray episodes, but the collages are perfectly fine. The videos, well, they're only pretty good. The rest of the cast tomorrow.

Didn't really do a lot of stuff of Anna from Razor, nah, I can't even say that seriously... only 23 collages, 26 HD videos and 452 raw caps (only Emma Booth has more, Anna Hutchison has more collages though) including a ripper of a deleted scene where she is strip searched. Definitely the best find of last year with that cheeky smile she has. I've been watching the second series of Spirited where she's in a few episodes and I've seen so much of her recently I had to do a double check to she what I was watching... There will be no stuff of her in Spirited sadly.
Last of the Underbelly: Razor stuff. Looks like the next series of Underbelly is heading to Queensland in the 80s for the next lot. Hopefully, there will be another new find for one of the female roles after the two Anna and Emma Booth, although I'd suggest it would be a more male dominated series. But, the Underbelly writers always find a way to put in the sleaze and this period was chocka-block with sleaze.
There is also the New Zealand series of Underbelly: Land of the Long Green Cloud I should really get around to at some stage. I've watched the first two episodes and there is a fair bit of nudity but all of it seems to be from uncredited cast which is a pain in the arse trying to work out who's who. Hopefully, there's some main cast nudity in the remaining eps.
